OUR PHILOSOPHY
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Founded in Tel Aviv in 2016. Based in Tokyo. Made in Georgia.
In 2026, VAGUE marks ten years of continuous practice, experimentation, and making.
VAGUE is an independent fashion label founded by Anuk Yosebashvili and Yaron Shmerkin. The studio approaches clothing as wearable architecture, exploring the relationship between body, structure, and material.
“VAGUE began in a place of obscurity, in the absence of a clear definition. Over time, that lack of definition became the definition itself.”
— Anuk Yosebashvili, Founder & Designer
VAGUE YOURSELF
VAGUE does not begin with decoration. It begins with construction.
Through tension, support, volume, resistance, and release, the studio develops garments that carry the body rather than simply decorate it. Construction, transformation, and function are central to the practice, allowing each piece to shift through movement and wear.
The collections are designed as adaptable structures — pieces that respond to the body, rather than impose upon it.
BEST IN BLACK
Working predominantly in black, VAGUE defines its visual language through proportion, construction, texture, and material behavior rather than ornament.
For VAGUE, black is not the absence of expression, but a field of precision. It allows form, surface, and silhouette to speak with clarity.
“The garment carries the body, not the opposite.”
— Anuk Yosebashvili
MADE WITH INTENTION
The collections are produced in VAGUE’s private atelier in Georgia, where contemporary design is supported by textile knowledge carried through three generations and by skilled local craftsmanship.
Made-to-order production keeps the studio closely involved with every garment, allowing each piece to be created with intention rather than excess.
AS VAGUE ENTERS ITS SECOND DECADE
VAGUE continues to evolve as a living laboratory for material, construction, research, and new ways of making.
